Rivard has possibly the best location of all the houses in Castle Gardens with its extensive first floor deck leading off the main living area. It has the most incredible views up Loch Tay and is only a stone’s throw from Loch Tay and riverside walks.

taymouth castle - kenmore
The Campbells of Breadalbane were one of Scotland's greatest landowning families. At its height their estate extended to 437,696 acres and was over 100 miles long. From Aberfeldy it was possible to reach the west coast of Scotland without leaving the Breadalbane's land and at its core lay Taymouth, a vast baronial castle, built at the height of the family's power.
Taymouth Castle is believed to be the most important Scottish castle remaining in private ownership. Its public rooms are outstanding examples of the opulence and refinement created by the best architects and craftsmen of the early 19th century. The central building with its cloistered colonnade and corner towers, dates from 1806 and was built by James and Archibald Elliot. Within the central tower Francis Bernasconi, acknowledged as the greatest designer of fine plaster work in that era created a central staircase that soars 100 feet through all 4 storeys of the tower. It is one of the most impressive staircases in Britain. Many of the ceilings were painted by Cornelius Dixon.

Taymouth Group Ltd is the company behind the £74 million development of the 450-acre estate and historic Taymouth Castle in Perthshire into a unique luxury resort. ‘Taymouth Golf Course: Euro Ambitions Unveiled’
The company behind the £74 million development of the 450-acre estate and historic Taymouth Castle in Perthshire into a unique luxury resort, has announced it expects the upgraded golf course ‘to be the best conditioned course in Europe’.
Michael Hall, director of Taymouth Group Ltd, commented: “The course was originally developed by James Braid in the 1930s and has been enjoyed by many people over the years. We want to ensure that what James Braid originally envisaged is kept, so we will be keeping the layout of the course, but we will be making the course slightly longer, improving drainage, and dramatically upgrading the greens. There will be no major changes to the course layout and it will still be 18-holes, but there will be a big difference in standards of maintenance which will ensure the course is of the highest quality.
“We are aiming to make the golf course at Taymouth a world class course with the best conditioned greens in Europe”.
