1. Contract
The Contract for a short-term holiday rental shall be made between the Client and Mains of Taymouth Cottages. The Contract shall be governed by Scottish Law. The contract will be deemed to be entered into when the initial deposit is processed and Mains of Taymouth Cottages issues confirmation. The Contract will be subject to all of the following booking conditions.
2. Payment
A deposit of one half of the rental fee is payable if the booking is made more than six weeks before the commencement of the rental. Non-payment of the balance of the rental due six weeks before the arrival date shall be construed as a cancellation of the contract by the Client. For bookings made less than six weeks before the commencement of the rental, the total rental fee is payable on booking. Payment can only be accepted by cheque if it is denominated in sterling (UK pounds). All payments shall be made to Mains of Taymouth Cottages, Kenmore, Aberfeldy, Perthshire PH15 2HN.
3. Cancellations
Any cancellation made by the Client for whatever reason must be in writing. Every effort will be made to re-let the cancelled holiday let but, failing this, the entire rental fee will be payable.
Mains of Taymouth Cottages strongly recommends clients should take out their own Holiday Insurance policy.
4. VAT
VAT is included in the rental fee where applicable. Current VAT standard rate tax in the UK is 17.5%.
5. Period of Hire
Rentals commence, unless otherwise notified, at 4 p.m. on the day of arrival and terminate at 10 a.m. on the day of departure.
6. Number of Persons in the property
The number of persons occupying the property must not exceed the maximum number stipulated in the brochure and the website. Mains of Taymouth Cottages reserves the right to refuse entry to the entire party if this condition is not observed.
7. Complaints
Should there be any cause for complaint during the occupation of the property, Mains of Taymouth Cottages should be notified immediately and in the case of a serious problem, the complaint should be confirmed in writing.
8. Care of the property
The Client shall take all reasonable and proper care of the property and its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the property and leave them in the same state of repair and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning.
9. Breakages or damage
The Client is legally bound to notify Mains of Taymouth Cottages of any breakages or damage to the property and reimburse them for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand.
10. Liability
Mains of Taymouth Cottages, its employees and agents do not accept third party liability in respect of breach of contract, negligence, misrepresentation or otherwise.
11. Warranties
Mains of Taymouth Cottages does not warrant and is not responsible for the accuracy of any verbal information given or statements made by any of its representatives.
12. Right of entry
Mains of Taymouth Cottages shall be allowed the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.
13. Children
Guests must accept responsibility for the safety of their children at all times whilst on the Mains of Taymouth Estate.
